Homemade Italian Breadcrumbs

Ingredients

  • day old bread
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dried herbs such as: parsley, garlic powder, oregano

 


Instructions

  • place day old bread in a food processor or blender, blend until a fine, sand like consistence is formed
  • season bread crumbs with salt, pepper and your choice of dried herbs (I use dried parsley, garlic powder and dried oregano0
  • transfer to a mason jar and store in your pantry for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 1 month

Notes

I love to add these homemade breadcrumbs to veggies like asparagus and portobello mushrooms. It’s also great as a topping for homemade macaroni and cheese.
