  • 23 medium kirby cucumbers
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 56 sprigs of fresh dill
  • 1 tbsp pickling spice
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 wide mouth mason jar


  1. bring vinegar, water and salt to a boil
  2. cut off ends of the cucumber and cut into spears
  3. smash and peel garlic
  4. add garlic, dill, pickling spice and cucumber spears to a wide mouth mason jar
  5. remove boiling liquid from heat and pour over the contents of the mason jar
  6. let stand with lid off for about 10 minutes
  7. once cooled add lid and tighten, at this point you can place in the refrigerator


*do not place jar with hot, newly boiled liquid in the refrigerator. Let stand and cool for a bit before refrigerating

**if you like spicy pickles, jalapeños are a great addition
