  • 2 medium sized tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds


  1. heat your cast iron skillet on medium high heat – you want the pan screaming hot!
  2. pat dry tuna steaks with a paper towel and drizzle with half of the olive oil
  3. cover the first side of both tunas steaks with sesame seeds
  4. once pan is hot enough, add in tuna sesame seed side down and cook for 1 -2 minutes (depending on how rare you like your tuna)
  5. while the first side cooks, drizzle remaining olive oil on the plain side and cover with remaining sesame seeds
  6. flip and cook second side for an additional 1-2 minutes
  7. remove from heat and slice
  8. serve with rice and a drizzle of soy sauce (optional) enjoy!
